A new trailer for She-Hulk: Lawyer highlights the show’s many cameos from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios kicked off Phase 4 and the multiverse saga with its first attempt at the small screen in Wanda Vision. Since then, Disney+ has hosted several other MCU TV shows, focusing on both returning and new characters. After Moon Knight and Ms. MarvelMarvel Studios is once again set to debut a new player in the franchise with Jennifer Ann Walters/Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk.
Unlike its last two Disney+ series, Marvel’s She-Hulk: Lawyer will build on its ties to the larger MCU. While the show will function as an origin story for Walters, it will also be the returning project for several familiar characters. Among them are Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, who makes his second appearance in Phase 4 after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘ post-credits scene. Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky/Abomination also returns after his Shang Chi appearance. Meanwhile, Benedict Wong’s Wong makes his fourth appearance in the multiverse saga in the upcoming series.
In the new She-Hulk: Lawyer trailer, all of these returning characters are featured, along with a few new faces. Despite the show’s many exciting cameos, Walters reminds fans that this is still his show in this latest clip. Breaking the fourth wall according to his original comic book arc, Maslany’s titular hero commands attention in the final shot. Watch new She-Hulk trailer below:
Daredevil is a notable new MCU character missing from the trailer. After Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Coming Home, audiences are eagerly awaiting his next appearance. At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced a new 18-episode TV show titled Daredevil: Born Again as part of Phase 5 of the MCU. However, audiences won’t have to wait that long for another Hell’s Kitchen Devil appearance, as he’s been confirmed to be making an appearance in She-Hulk: Lawyer. Although it is still uncertain of Murdock’s exact place in She-Hulk‘s story, of all the cameos in the series, Daredevil is perhaps the most anticipated after his recent surprise MCU return.
This new trailer is a creative way to use She-Hulk’s ability to break the fourth wall, and audiences should expect the character to make plenty of meta commentary throughout the series. Plus, it’s also a great way to control viewer expectations. Despite the many cameos in She-Hulk: Lawyer, Walters reminding viewers that this is still her story is an indication that the show will still focus on She-Hulk, not Hulk or Daredevil. It’s a good sign that Marvel Studios is well aware of the risks of including too many characters in a non-set project.
